After two years in the making, the Coop Party is finally going to happen.

October 4th 2008 is the day and the Chicken Ranch is the place. We hope you can come.

Where: At The Chicken Ranch, Spring Texas USA, of course.

Spring Texas USA 77388
95° 26' 48"W / 30° 03' 10" N
104' elevation
(Near Interstate 45 North and Cypresswood Drive West)

Our Phone Numbers: 281 353-7961 (H) 281 744-9998 (C)

Why: Because it's time we should have a Coop Party.

What to Eggspect: The Chicken Ranch is home to the Chicken Coop, where Eggs are not only eaten, they're cooked on.

It's also where the Ranch Staff is made up of some really colorful characters.

Entertainment is the agenda... the entire agenda. We just want everyone to have a good time.

We are on a very small cul-de-sac so parking is limited. There's plenty of parking along nearby Teller Boulevard. If you are unloading people or supplies, drive into the cul-de-sac and drop them off, then park. And please observe the posted speed (20 mph) because there are lots of children and a goodly number of police to protect them.

If you are staying at a nearby hotel we can have someone come get you and take you back to the hotel. (See hotel list below)

If you are flying in, we can meet you at Houston Intercontinental (George Bush) Airport and take you back when you are ready to depart.

Dress is comfortably-casual. Weather in early October is nice but it can sometimes surprise us by being very warm or very cool. And we all hope it doesn't rain.

Children are welcome but bear in mind that it is an Adult Party atmosphere. We will have a few old fashioned games to keep them occupied. We suggest you bring their favorite toys or electronic games.

We have a spa and anyone wishing to soak a bit can feel free to do so. It will hold five adults comfortably. Three more uncomfortably.

We have a large Big Green Egg, a small Big Green Egg, a mini Big Green Egg and a gas grill to cook on if anyone wants to cook their favorite dish.

Anyone who wants to do so is more than welcome to bring their own Big Green Egg. We will have plenty of lump, accessories, utensils, seasonings, sauces, bowls and platters for you to work with.

It might be helpful to bring chairs and small tables if it's not too much trouble.

We will have a variety of snacks and foods already cooked up and ready for serving throughout the day. Water, tea, sodas, beer and various adult concoctions will be available. Or you can bring your own.

There are grocery stores nearby: Target, Super Walmart, Kroger and Sam's Club

There should be plenty of extra ice and cooler storage for those wishing to bring their own food or drinks.

There are a number of hotels nearby. They include:

Spring Lodge (budget hotel)

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem staying at any of them but if my budget said "go low" I would take the Motel 6 without a problem. It's about $50 a night and is just outside our neighborhood.

Just remember, we're among friends and the goal is to enjoy our time together. If all goes as planned, it will be a memorable event for everyone.

In order to make sure we have everything we need, we ask that you complete a simple RSVP with sufficient info for us to prepare for you. The RSVP Form is below. Just copy and paste to an email according to the instructions.

We know this is going to be a fun party, and a great warmup for the 2008 Eggtoberfest in Atlanta.

Comments, Photos, Videos and Recipes will be posted here for everyone to enjoy and download.

We sincerely hope to see you here...

Spring Hen (Judy) and Spring Chicken (leroy)
